University of Arizona Conducts an Experiment on Kurapia
05.19.2017 | Category, News
Kurapia has been recently evaluated as promising for its characteristics of low water use and salinity tolerance. This gained the attention of the University of Arizona. Arizona's desert climate makes it difficult to maintain standard turf, therefore they seek to plant a low maintenance turf. The University conducted an experiment to evaluate Kurapia's performance under various circumstances. The experiment noted Kurapia's response to cultural management practices as well as identified herbicides that could possibly be used to keep Kurapia weed free.
Upon the usage of pre and post-emergence herbicides, Kurapia had a 90% survival rate. The results also noted which seasons it is best to plant Kurapia and have it grow the most efficiently.
